Ho scritto il lemma “Summertime” sul web e il primo risultato della ricerca Google riporta la famosissima melodia Jazz composta da George Gershwin nel dicembre del ’33 il cui testo è ad opera di DuBose Heyward e Ira Gershwin. A questo punto mi sono soffermata sulle parole:

“Summertime, and the livin’ is easy. Fish are jumping, and the cotton is high. Your dad is rich, and your mother good lookin’, so hush little baby, don’t you cry. One of these mornings you’re gonna rise up singing. And you’ll spread your wings and you’ll take to the sky. But till that morning, there ain’t nothin’ can harm you. With daddy and mammy standin’ by…”

Le strofe rappresentano una filastrocca a quanto pare ispirata ad una ninna nanna di origine ucraina che rassicura un bambino sul suo presente e sul suo possibile futuro esortandolo a non piangere! In effetti è così… la pausa estiva permette di prenderci il nostro tempo, di ricordare il passato, riflettere sul presente e sognare il futuro. L’estate è la stagione in cui si fanno nuovi progetti ma è anche quel periodo in cui è fondamentale sfruttare ogni singolo attimo per fare ciò che piace, condividere esperienze, imparare e ricaricare le batterie prima di reimmergersi nella routine post vacanza!
